Amber Carpernter BS, MPT, CPI
Amber was born in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Her father was in the Army and her family moved several times. She lived in South Dakota, Iowa, Colorado, Arizona, Maryland, California and Texas. Her favorite place to live was Colorado and has decided to make Colorado her permanent home.

She attended the University Of Texas at San Antonio where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1999. Following her undergraduate, Amber attended Texas Tech University where she received a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2002.

Her special interests include treating pelvic floor weakness and pain and care for chronic and acute wounds. She also specializes in gait evaluation and orthotics fitting. Amber is also skilled in Pilates applications to rehabilitation. Amber uses manual treatment and customized exercises with each patient to assist patients in reaching their goals and returning to their pre-injury/pre-pregnancy conditions.

Amber enjoys alpine skiing, tennis, biking, and hiking in her spare time. She is also an avid reader of fiction and enjoys quilting. She shares her home with her dog and cat.

She has been treating patients in Wheat Ridge since 2002. She opened AC Physical Therapy in September 2007 and moved to Wheat Ridge in 2008. She splits her time between treating patients and administration. She loves physical therapy and looks forward to facilitating healing and wellness in all of her patients.

CarrieCarrie (Anderson) Matter MS, PT
Carrie grew up in Arden Hills, Minnesota.  She became interested in PT when she was in High School.  She has always been interested in the body and remembers asking her dad (a physician) questions.

Carrie received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Wheaton College, in Illinois.  She completed her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from Regis in 2000.

Carrie’s specialties include manual therapy and aquatic therapy.  Her interests include treating the TMJ, neurologic conditions and patients with balance dysfunction.  Carrie has been treating patients in Wheat Ridge since 2001.  Her passion is treating patients and giving them the tools they need to live better, healthy lives.

She has been treating at ACPT since we opened in 2007 just months. When not at work, Carrie enjoys photography, bicycling, hiking, snowshoeing, horseback riding, running, alpine and waterskiing.  She also enjoys gardening and working in her yard.

AshleyDr. Ashley (Dutro) Lyons BS, PT, DPT
Ashley was born in Corvallis, Oregon. She grew up in Aberdeen, Washington, a small town near the coast. She attended Western Washington University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science in 2002. Following her undergraduate, Ashley attended Regis University where she received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005.

Her special interests include treated sports related injuries and temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Ashley utilizes manual treatment and individualized exercise programs to assist patients in returning to their daily and recreational activities.

Ashley enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, swimming and tennis in her spare time. She also enjoys reading novels and cooking. She shares her home with her husband Cameron Lyons PT, DPT,  their very sweet and accommodating English Setter and their wild and crazy Gordon Setter pup. In 2010 they bought a home together and are making plans for the birth of their first child in March 2012.

She has been practicing in Wheat Ridge since 2005 and joined the team at ACPT in June 2009. She loves being a Physical Therapist because it allows her to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds. She looks forward to facilitating wellness in all of her patients.

Christy Lawson PTA

Christy was born in Madison, Wisconsin. Her childhood years were spent in Phoenix, Arizona.  She moved to Colorado her first year of high school and attended Morgan Community College where she achieved her Associates of Arts and Science  Physical Therapist Assistant degree in May 1993.  She tested and achieved received her Wyoming State Boards Certification to practice as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

Her special interests include treating patients with pelvic floor disorders, various neurologic and orthopedic conditions in addition to wound care and along with aquatics (pool therapy), balance, Pilates and posture.

Christy enjoys the spending time outdoors were she  swims, bikes, hikes, rides horseback and water skis. When she vacations she enjoys lying on the beach reading books. Her other interest include dancing, country music, sewing, home cooking and baking.  Around the house she is often found gardening and planting flowers each spring and even engaging in a number of different home improvement projects.  She enjoys her spare time with her family. Christy and her husband are the parents of four children, and the grandparents of four little ones. They share their home with two dogs and one cat.  She enjoys her profession as a PTA. She loves helping her patients achieve their goals to improve their lives and overall health and function.
